Daniel and Amber prepare for their big night, Billy and Mac have a huge argument, and Jack and Emily grow closer.

Mac, Cane, and Billy are still in the bar discussing the surrogacy. Cane asks Billy to think of Lily, but Billy tells him to quit hiding behind her. Mac asks Cane to leave, saying she'll handle this. She then tells Billy he has completely crossed the line! They argue over whether or not Cane has changed. Billy says she'll bond with the baby and Cane, even though Mac protests that Lily will be the mother. She wants him to support her the way that she supported him when he bought the magazine - she wants to be part of a miracle. Billy thinks she won't be able to hand the baby over as easily as she thinks. He asks what will happen if Lily doesn't make it? Mac says their argument is not about the baby, really - it's that they're so very different - how can they make a life together? Mac says she tried to be more like him, but it's not her. She brings up his hesitation to sign his divorce papers. Billy says she's just too good-hearted. Mac says that's exactly what she means - they believe in different things. Billy says the only thing that matters is that they love each other, but Mac's not sure he's right. Billy insists he won't give up on them - they were meant to be together. He kisses her. Mac pulls back and says they're not the same people they used to be - if it wasn't the surrogacy that pulled them apart it would be something else. Billy asks if she's done.

Cane is in Lily's hospital room. He tries to prepare her in case the surrogacy with Mac doesn't work out. He tells her that Billy is trying to talk Mac out of it. Lily sighs, and says she should have realized that Billy would be opposed. Cane says his issue is with him. Lily notes there are other options, but it seemed like a sign when Mac volunteered on the same day they decided to do it!

Alone in the bar, Billy drinks and beats up on the jukebox in frustration.

Mac comes into Lily's hospital room and tells her and Cane, who are sporting worried faces, that Operation Ashby is still a go!

Paul runs into Emily Peterson at the mental facility. She tells him Patty is still stuck back in the time when she was married to Jack, but he shouldn't give up hope. Paul goes in to see his sister. He has a photo album from when they were kids. She comments that she'll have to show these to Jack when he gets home. Patty then recalls a time when Paul saved her from almost drowning - she says he's always there to rescue her - she remembers! Paul says he wishes he had handled things differently. They sing, and Patty kisses his cheek. As they turn back to the album, Patty's suddenly becomes somber. She tells Paul that if Jack ever tried to leave her for someone else she'd hurt him again - she just can't help herself!

Jack is at the Club, leaving a message for Emily on her phone when Phyllis comes rushing up to him asking for help. She says it's Daniel. Jack asks what's wrong with him. She says he's engaged - to Amber! Phyllis just can't cope with the idea! Jack listens as she rants about how Daniel may not be off the hook for the murder and she thinks he's just back with Amber because he needs something to hold on to. Jack tells her to breathe, then says he's not getting involved - he respects Daniel, who is a grown man! He warns if she doesn't support Daniel now, she won't be the one he turns to if it all goes wrong.

Emily arrives at the Club and greets Jack. She says that she appreciates his offer to help with Patty, but it's best that he stay away from her. Emily then asks him to join her for dinner. They discuss why he married Patty all those years ago. He admits he had no excuse to behave the way he did - his father was a great role model. Emily is surprised that he's opening up about his past. She asks him what changed him. Jack says that his dad died, and his last marriage taught him a lot. He mentions that his brother is now following in his footsteps - he's got a long way to go! Emily says that Patty told her what Jack was like during their marriage, but she's surprised he realizes the truth. She admits he's better now and they toast. Jack suggests that they go on a date.

On their rooftop, Amber and Daniel discuss what they'll need to pull off an instant wedding. Suddenly, Katherine appears and asks if she's interrupting. She gets involved in the wedding planning - and winds up agreeing to marry them! Daniel runs off to tell Kevin and Jana, and Kay tells Amber to call Lauren for a dress.

Lauren answers her phone in the bookstore, where she's browsing with Daisy. She tells Amber she has the perfect dress for her, then hangs up. She passes the wedding news to Daisy, who says to give Amber her best.

At Crimson Lights, Jana is horrified to hear Daniel announce that he will be marrying Amber on Friday the 13th! Ryder stands by as Kevin reassures her that everything will be fine. Daniel, Jana, and Kevin leave. Gloria walks in. Ryder tells her that Kevin's gone, but it's a good time for them to talk. Ryder tells Gloria that he's nothing like Tom, even though he raised him. He understands that it will take time for her to trust him. Suddenly, Ryder spots Deacon. He goes over and murmurs that Daniel's marrying Amber - tonight on his rooftop. Just then, Phyllis comes in. Deacon offer congratulations, and tells her what he just heard. Phyllis takes off. Ryder then tells Gloria that he needs to run an errand and asks her to watch the counter. Deacon meanders over to Glo, who says she's surprised he's still hanging around. Deacon says she'd be surprised how much this town still has to offer him.

On the roof, Jana and Amber decorate, and Katherine and Daniel check out her new online credentials. Murphy and Kevin help set up, and Lauren appears with Amber's dress. Jana, Amber, and Lauren disappear inside, and Kay chuckles about becoming a minister. Everyone takes their positions before long, and Murphy brings Amber out on his arm. Katherine begins the ceremony. Suddenly, Phyllis bursts onto the roof and asks if she's too late?! She wonders what happened to June? She tells Daniel she can't let him do this. Amber tries to reassure Phyllis, telling her she and Daniel are best friends, and that she respects him and appreciates him. Phyllis, in a daze, agrees to stay for the ceremony. Lauren puts her arm around her. Katherine calls for the rings - they have to improvise, since they forgot. Katherine says she has never once doubted that Amber and Daniel belong together. Amber says heartfelt vows as Phyllis holds her head and Jana looks around ominously. Daniel says shorter vows, and then Katherine pronounces them husband and wife. Everyone applauds, and Lauren drags Phyllis over to congratulate them. Someone watching from a distance smashes a pair of binoculars on the ground!
